The Role
We are seeking an experienced Sales Engineer. The Sales Engineer partners with Sales Executives to accelerate complex, value-driven sales cycles by translating customer business challenges into compelling Esker solutions. This role is critical in positioning Esker as a strategic transformation partner for enterprise and global accounts.
Key Tasks/Duties:
Enterprise Sales Partnership
Serve as a trusted advisor to Business Development Managers at all levels, beginning with discovery phase through close
Participate in account strategy, deal shaping, and executive-level conversations to influence buying decisions
Support global and multi-entity sales opportunities, including coordination with subject matter experts
Value-Based Solution Design
Translate customer pain points into clear, outcome-driven solutions tied to efficiency, cost reduction, compliance, and scalability
Develop and present tailored demos aligned to prospect workflows, KPIs, and maturity level
Help differentiate Esker's capabilities, specifically focusing on AI-driven automation throughout the Office of the CFO platform, with a special expertise on Esker's S2P solutions
Technical & Business Validation
Lead technical discovery, solution fit assessments, and high-level architecture discussions
Address enterprise concerns related to ERP integration (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.), security, data privacy, and scalability
Support RFP/RFI responses with accurate, value-oriented, and consistent messaging
Deal Acceleration & Risk Reduction
Identify technical or operational risks early and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve them
Support proof-of-concept discussions, pilots, and validation workshops
Contribute to increased predictability in sales cycles and higher-quality pipeline
Essential Experience:
Proven experience in Sales Engineering, Presales, or Solutions Consulting supporting enterprise customers in complex, multi‑stakeholder sales cycles
Strong understanding of business process automation, financial operations (S2P, O2C), ERP ecosystems, and enterprise SaaS integrations
Ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, compelling, executive level value stories
Confidence leading customer‑facing discussions with IT, Finance, and Operations leaders, including technical discovery and solution validation
Consultative, value‑driven mindset focused on measurable outcomes, ROI, and long‑term partnership
Proven track record of co‑selling with Enterprise Account Executives to advance, shape, and close strategic opportunities
Comfort operating in ambiguous, non‑scripted environments, adapting solutions to customer context and maturity
Strong storytelling, presentation, and demo skills, able to influence both technical and executive stakeholders
Working Conditions:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Travel:
Ability to travel up to 25% of working hours
Salary Range: $95,000-135,000 + Commission
This role may be filled at either the Professional or Senior level. The posted compensation range reflects both levels. Final leveling and compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
